6 Card-Writing Tips
- Sign it by hand. A handwritten signature turns a printed card into a keepsake teachers save for years.
- Mention one specific moment. A favorite lesson, a kind word, a breakthrough — one specific detail beats generic praise every time.
- Reference the school calendar. A line about the fall semester or winter break makes the message feel timely and real.
- Let kids write their own line. A child’s handwriting on the card is the part teachers treasure most.
- A small gift card is the classic. The American teacher-gift staple tucks neatly inside — just keep the message the star, not the card.
- Deliver before the last day of school. Teachers love reading their cards slowly over winter break, so beat the final bell.
